Caboose Village-Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort

Caboose Village at Big Rock Candy Mountain Resort is now in full swing, with 7 completed Train Cars ready for you to check in starting April 15, 2016. The Caboose Village Project has been an ongoing dream for many years for the developers, and with the recent completion of 4 of the Train Cars, that dream is becoming a reality.

The Big Rock Candy Mountain has a long history with railroads, as the Rio Grande Railroad company bought the east side river route in 1908, a line vital to the economic development of the central Utah valleys. The line was decommissioned in 1976 and acquired by Sevier County. County officials turned it into the 14-mile Candy Mountain Express hiking/biking trail.

The construction began at Caboose Village in 2011, you can read a great article from Deseret News here, pictures below are from the Deseret News Article.

As of today, 2/29/2016, there are 7 completed Train Cars in Caboose Village and they have been a huge hit with visitors. Fully restored and refinished, these train cars look exactly like the vehicles they were when they were used on the railroads…until you step inside.

These train cars have been beautifully refurbished and turned into incredibly appealing lodging units, and definitely the most unique in the area. They offer accommodations for 2 up to 8 people in each train car, and all provide air conditioning, bathrooms, flat screen TVs, coffee pots, and microwaves. The California Zephyr is a true showpiece, with sleeping for up to 8 people and a full kitchen.

Nearby recreation includes the Paiute ATV Trail, Candy Mountain Express Bike Trail, Fremont Indian State Park, Whitewater Rafting, Ropes Courses/Ziplines, State and National Parks, and even Bear Grylls Survival Academy.

View the Caboose Village page for information about pricing, amenities and more. And book your next Utah Getaway in the most unique lodging available.
